Privacy Policy

Tacet is made by João Vitor Zaniolo, an independent developer in Brazil. The short version: the Tacet app collects nothing about you and never connects to the internet.
The app
- No data collection. No analytics, no tracking, no crash reporting, no account.
- No internet. Tacet doesn't send or receive anything over the network.
- Access it asks for. Tacet asks for access to two folders where macOS keeps your menu bar settings. It uses them only to turn the apps you pick on and off in the menu bar and to keep their icons in order. It doesn't open anything else.
- What stays on your Mac. Your choices (which apps to hide, your shortcut) are saved in Tacet's settings. Tacet also keeps a small log of what it did at ~/Library/Logs/Tacet.log to help fix problems. Nothing leaves your Mac unless you choose to send it.
- Feedback. “Send Feedback…” opens your own email app with the Tacet and macOS versions in the subject. If you send it, I receive your email address and message, and use them only to reply.
Downloads and updates
Tacet is delivered through Gumroad. When you get it, Gumroad collects your email address (and payment details for paid versions) under its own privacy policy. I receive your email address and use it only to send Tacet updates. You can unsubscribe from any of those emails.
This website
This site has no cookies, analytics or tracking scripts. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which may process basic technical data, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Your rights
You can ask what I hold about you (at most your email address and any messages you sent), ask me to correct it or delete it, at any time. This includes your rights under Brazil's LGPD and the EU's GDPR.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If Tacet ever starts collecting anything, it will ask you first.
