Terms of Use
Last updated October 19, 2026
These terms cover the Tacet app and this website. Tacet is made by João Vitor Zaniolo, an independent developer in Brazil. By installing or using Tacet, you agree to them.
The beta
- The beta is free. You may install it on your own Macs and use it for personal or work use.
- Each beta stops working on the date shown in the app. When it ends, Tacet turns every app it hid back on.
- Betas are unfinished and may have bugs. Features can change before the paid version.
- Please don't resell, repackage or redistribute Tacet. Point people to this site instead.
Paid versions
A paid version is planned. Its price, license and refund terms will be shown before you buy and will be added here.
What Tacet changes on your Mac
Tacet changes the “Allow in the Menu Bar” settings and the order of menu bar icons for the apps you pick. Quitting Tacet turns every app it hid back on. You can also change these settings yourself in System Settings › Menu Bar at any time.
No warranty
Tacet is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. I work to keep it reliable, but I can't promise it will be error-free or keep working with every future version of macOS.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for indirect or consequential damages from using Tacet. If any liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for Tacet, which for the beta is zero. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.
Ownership
Tacet, its name, icon and this website belong to João Vitor Zaniolo. Using Tacet doesn't give you any rights to them beyond using the app.
Changes and law
If these terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new date. These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil.
